Romantic Valentine’s Day Getaway Ideas in the USA
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
Ocean Springs, Mississippi, should almost certainly not be on your list of romantic getaways. It is one of my favourite places to travel along the US Gulf Coast and a hidden treasure of the fabulous Secret Coast of Coastal Mississippi. (It’s also among our picks for the best romantic getaways in the South).
The Roost, an acclaimed boutique hotel, an opulent room at The Inn at Ocean Springs, or a private cottage at Front Beach Cottages are all excellent places to spoil your special someone.
Whenever and if you want to leave your cosy accommodation, I advise exploring the streets shaded by inspirational oak trees, touring the excellent Walter Anderson Museum, and treating yourself to a sumptuous meal prepared by master chef Alex Perry at Vestige.
Other romantic eating experiences include the outdoor terrace at Maison de Lu, oysters on the waterfront porch at Mikey’s on the Bayou, and inventive breakfast biscuits at Greenhouse on Porter.
Some couples (plush robes optional) will decide to stay in their rooms; in that case, savour takeout from Eat Drink Love (in The Roost), exquisite Belgian waffles from Bright-Eyed (fronting Inn at Ocean Springs), or bake your sweets in your Front Beach kitchen.
Make time to see at least one sunset or dawn for a romantic break along the Gulf Coast, which is stunning and unforgettable.

New Orleans, Louisiana
The most famous image of New Orleans, Louisiana, is as a party city. Many tourists are surprised to learn it is also a great place to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend.
New Orleans is an older city by American standards. The French Quarter’s architecture is ideal for a day of playing tourists and meandering through a place rich in pleasure and history.
The Garden District is another lovely location for romantic strolls through majestic old Southern mansions and centuries-old live oak trees. February is seldom chilly and frequently cool, with a few pleasant days.
Few locations in the world have food as excellent as that in New Orleans, which is why most romantic trips include it.
Several Valentine’s Day dining alternatives exist, from early-morning beignets at Cafe du Monde to a New Orleans po’boy or a luxury lunch at one of the city’s renowned Louisiana Creole restaurants.
An evening cruise and lunch on one of the renowned riverboats are among the most distinctively New Orleans-specific possibilities for a romantic Valentine’s Day. After a beautiful meal, couples may spend a romantic evening on the Mississippi River, floating by the city.
On occasion, Valentine’s Day falls during Mardi Gras. During this extraordinarily hectic and crowded period, it might not be the most fantastic time for a romantic break in the Big Easy.
For most years, New Orleans has been a terrific option for Valentine’s Day. There isn’t much better than exploring Magazine Street, experiencing a hurricane in the French Quarter, or going to New Orleans with your special someone to eat some of the finest food in the world.
The lovely Roosevelt New Orleans has a spa and a rooftop pool; think about staying there!

Destin, Florida
Several options are available when selecting a romantic vacation spot in the United States for Valentine’s Day. Destin, Florida, would be best. Here, you’re sure to create lifetime memories.
Destin is located on the Emerald Coast and offers stunning ocean views. You’ll love the weather, with daytime temperatures often hovering around 18 degrees Celsius.
It’s the ideal time of year to take a romantic stroll along the pristine beaches and relax with your feet on the fine, white sand. Spend a day pampering yourself by visiting The Spa at Emerald Grande.
Another romantic activity is booking a Valentine’s Day dinner cruise aboard a boat. You can dine on delectable seafood during the evening while taking in the sunset.
Additionally, if you’re lucky, you could see a dolphin. Additionally, HarborWalk Village has many eateries, stores, and boutiques. It’s the ideal place to stroll around, holding hands and taking in the scenery with your lover.
There is no better spot than Destin to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your special someone!

San Juan, Puerto Rico
San Juan is one of the most picturesque places in the US because of its colonial architecture and vibrant homes. It has pleasant weather all year round and a bustling old town with quaint rum bars and historical sites.
Walking around San Juan’s historic district gives the impression that you are part of a real-life movie scene.
Regarding accommodations, I suggest the modest yet charming Casablanca Hotel. Every resort and hotel will host special activities or offer discounts for Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day specials are available at 1919 Restaurant, a terrific date spot. Rare 125 is also a fantastic restaurant with special February 13 and 14 meals.
It’s also an excellent starting point for exploring Puerto Rico, which has stunning beaches and idyllic islands. The main island even has one of the wettest tropical rainforests in the world—and the only one in the U.S. National Forest System.

Palm Springs, California
Because there are so many things to do, spas to visit, and restaurants, Palm Springs is an excellent place for couples to spend a unique Valentine’s Day. Every pair can discover, enjoy, and make memories together. Like as:
- Trip in a hot air balloon, especially at dawn and dusk.
- February offers several beautiful walks, including the Indian Canyon climb.
- Wintertime, when it’s colder, is an excellent time to visit Joshua Tree and National Park. The park has several short treks, mountain climbing routes, and adventure activities.
- The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the biggest revolving tramcar in the world. Astonishing eateries, an observation tower, and treks for all skill levels are available in Mt. San Jacinto State Park, a magnificent 10-minute drive up the mountain. However, the hills could be chilly.
- Downtowns on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs and Palm Desert are thriving, offering dining, shopping, and a terrific atmosphere.
- Various resorts and independent spas are located in the Palm Springs area. These are ideal places to unwind or reconnect with friends or family after a day spent outside.
Best of all, although most areas in the US are still frigid on Valentine’s Day, Palm Springs enjoys fantastic weather. It’s the ideal weather to make people feel good and appreciate the great outdoors and the inside.
To fully experience the romanticism of the place, think about reserving a stay at The Willows Historic Palm Spring Inn.

Mobile, Alabama
Imagine a city similar to New Orleans, with lovely French-inspired architecture and antebellum homes but a less rowdy atmosphere.
This is Mobile, Alabama, the city that exudes historic beauty and served as the first capital of French Louisiana. Historic Oakley and the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion are two examples of pre-Civil War homes currently accessible to the public on guided tours.
The nearby Gulf Shores beaches are ideal for long, passionate walks. While swimming may not be possible in February, the temperature is still pleasant enough to remove your shoes and dip your toes in the sand.
Additionally, Mobile is not only celebrating Valentine’s Day at this time of year. It also falls on the same day as Mardi Gras, which is enthusiastically observed through street parades in which costumed spectators on floats toss moon pies and beaded necklaces to the crowd.
There are still lots of clubs around if you’re up for partying, even though parades here are often much less boisterous than in New Orleans.

Niagara Falls, New York (& Canada)
A Valentine’s Day weekend vacation is a fantastic way for couples to get away from the rush of city life and appreciate quality time together as February approaches.
For many years, Niagara Falls has been regarded as the top romantic location in the world. It is simple to see why: strolling hand in hand down the promenade next to the Niagara River’s enormous rapids is utterly captivating. Nature’s immense strength, breathtaking beauty, and scale may be felt as much as seen. Holding hands with your beloved while standing next to a waterfall is unforgettable.
The breathtaking sight of the frozen cascades at Niagara Falls is perhaps the most compelling argument for travelling there in February. Niagara Falls’ landscape on Valentine’s Day is completely different from what it is during the other seasons.
Spending Valentine’s Day near Niagara Falls is an excellent idea because you can see it frozen! Frozen waterfalls are stunning and provide a completely different landscape from those in other months. At times, dense mist rises over the Falls and envelops you as portions of them freeze over.
Only a few small patches of flowing water remain to remind visitors of the ferocious cascades of water falling from a height behind dense clumps of snow and ice.
But it’s incredible to observe how quickly the water is going. Combining the view of protective fences, obstacles, and trees covered in clumps of ice, you’ll find the ideal environment for a calm, intimate walk.
Many of the area hotels will seduce you with their unique spa deals. Niagara lives up to its reputation as a romantic retreat; it is the ideal location to fall in love. Activities in Niagara include touring the Castellani Art Museum, the Underground Railroad Heritage Center, and waterfall-view gourmet dining.
On your Valentine’s Day getaway, stay at the magnificent Giacomo Hotel, which is ideal for exploring the falls.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts
If the stress of city life is too much for you, why not consider a romantic break to a small beach town?
Cape Cod, which lies on Massachusetts’ eastern coast, is the ideal destination for a romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day. One of the perfect locations for a romantic weekend is Cape Cod, which is only a 4.5-hour drive from hectic New York City.
There are more automobiles than parking places, and children roam the beaches throughout the summer.
However, the town is quiet because of the chilly weather in February. Finally, visitors may unwind on the stunning beaches by themselves.
Couples may wander peacefully along Cape Cod’s stunning coastline while snapping romantic photographs and spending quality time together. Valentine’s Day should be about the two of you, not the two of you and a dozen others.
Don’t forget to treat your significant other to a romantic meal at one of Cape Cod’s well-known seafood establishments, such as Captain Linnell House, where you can enjoy some of the country’s finest seafood.
Reserve a suite at the charming Mansion on Ocean Edge for a romantic Valentine’s Day on Cape Cod!

Vail/Bachelor Gulch, Colorado
Vail, Colorado, is one of the most romantic places to spend Valentine’s Day in the United States. Particularly the Bachelor Gulch region, home to the incredibly romantic Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch, a ski-in/ski-out resort tucked away in the tranquil Rocky Mountains blanketed with snow.
It is heaven if you ski in the snow or wish to learn. After taking personalized ski instruction, we went to the bunny slopes. However, they also cover you if you’re a more experienced skier!
Don’t discount this location if you don’t ski or would rather not. These two non-skiing snow activities in Vail may be my favourites during the entire vacation.
The finest way to experience some of Colorado’s best Rocky Mountain views is to snowmobile up to 12,000 feet for a half-day. Our dogsledding experience and mush lesson were equally great!
Return for a delicious supper in the hotel’s restaurant, which will be decked out for Valentine’s Day. You can even say hello to Bachelor, the inn’s dog! Take a 15-minute sleigh ride (yep, a sleigh!) from the hotel up to Zach’s Cabin if you’d rather eat supper “out.”
As you can see, Valentine’s Day in the Vail, Colorado region can be rather romantic.

New York City
Many people consider New York City the “Capital of the globe”! Its name originates from the fact that every nation has invested in it.
Still, it also offers an outstanding selection of foods, beverages, one-of-a-kind experiences, and romantic date ideas for any budget.
This year, please start by booking a stay at the magnificent and opulent Roxy Hotel. This hotel has everything you need for the ideal nightcap, including an oyster bar, lounge, and jazz club in the basement!
After checking in, it’s time to visit “AIRE: Ancient Baths New York” so you may enjoy the beauty of total wellness and relaxation before the big night out.
When you feel refreshed and ready to take on the evening, it’s time to go to the Upper West Side in Manhattan! Southern Italian cuisine is varied and distinctive, with a fantastic wine list that suits every palate. One of the best restaurants in New York City is “Celeste,” the establishment we’re talking about.
A bottle of Birbanera Montecucco Rosso, mussels, tagliatelle pasta with shrimp, cabbage, and sheep’s cheese would make the ideal supper here.
Once you’ve had a moment to digest and have room to move, head a few streets over to Cafe Lalo for some of the area’s most incredible desserts and aperitifs.
This is where Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks sat and conversed in “You’ve Got Mail,” a romantic fact you may share with your date. For that one, you must earn all possible props.
Make Uber your best buddy and take a car back to your hotel for a romantic Valentine’s nightcap after the day is over.

Carmel-by-the-Sea, California
Many fantastic weekend getaways in California are ideal for intimate retreats with your partner. One of the most romantic locations to visit for Valentine’s Day is the beautiful small town of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
The one-square-mile hamlet will enthral you with its stunning Spanish Colonial buildings and lanes, perfect for strolling arm in arm.
Browse the village’s world-class art galleries, have wine at one of the numerous tasting rooms and have breakfast at one of the restaurants where you may choose from French to California farm-to-table dishes. Explore the renowned Carmel fairytale houses on your schedule.
On a fine day, visit Point Lobos State Park, 3 miles south of the city, and take one of the many short walking paths to take in the spectacular water views. If you want a romantic drive, travel a few miles down the Pacific Coast Highway; even if you only get as far as the Bixby Creek Bridge, the view is breathtaking.
And head to Carmel Beach in the evening with a blanket and a bottle of wine to cuddle up and enjoy a stunning West Coast sunset. The sandy beach is immaculate and gorgeous.
Whatever you decide to do there, your vacation to Carmel-by-the-Sea on Valentine’s Day will be remembered.

Asheville, NC
Asheville, situated in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina, has become increasingly well-known over the past ten years due to its stunning natural surroundings, vibrant cultural scene, and forward-thinking environmental concerns.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, and the French Broad River can all be explored from Asheville, making it an excellent starting point (which cuts right through the heart of town).
Plenty of charming mountain cabins are scattered across the area for housing, but there are also romantic hotels in the city, such as the storied Black Walnut Inn B&B.
Downtown Asheville has numerous outstanding dining establishments, including Posana, Curate, Plant, Bouchon, and many others. In conclusion, it’s undoubtedly one of the best locations in the country for a weekend of love!

Sedona, Arizona
Sedona is the ideal vacation spot all year round, but it’s incredibly wonderful for Valentine’s Day. How does a flight in a hot air balloon sound? Or how about having a romantic meal for two at a posh restaurant? Alternatively, you may visit a vineyard and enjoy the area’s excellent wines.
A well-known chocolate festival is held in Sedona on Valentine’s Day. The Verde Canyon Railroad Chocolate Lovers’ Festival offers everything a chocolate fan could want, from chocolate fountains to chocolate pastries.
One of my favourite things is getting outside and exploring some of Sedona’s top trails. There are so many hikes for all levels of fitness. Cathedral Rock and Devil’s Bridge are must-sees.
There’s a solid reason these two walks are the most well-liked in Sedona. They provide breathtaking views of Sedona’s famed red rocks and natural beauty.
Whatever you decide to do in Sedona, you’ll have a blast discovering the beautiful region of Arizona.

As you wander through the city’s streets, admire the ornate iron gates that encircle the stunning gardens surrounding 300-year-old residences illuminated by flickering gas lamps. In the historic core, modest art galleries and boutique stores coexist next to eminent churches.
The boutique rooms at Zero George, a former residence in Charleston converted hotel, are the perfect setting for a romantic weekend away on Valentine’s Day. Additionally, travellers may choose from various restaurants in Charleston to enjoy a memorable evening.
The annual Southeastern Animals Exposition is held in Charleston’s main square and honours wildlife and nature via great art, conservation education, food and drink.

Fairbanks, Alaska
Alaska seldom appears on top vacation destination lists, let alone those for romantic getaways. But that distinguishes this undiscovered treasure as one of the top places to spend a romantic trip. Although it will be chilly, the effort will be worthwhile.
The most picturesque scenery can be found in America’s largest state, but Fairbanks, Alaska, is the cosiest spot to stay in February.
The World Ice Sculpting Competition Showcase officially opens on Valentine’s Day, and you may have a steaming hot coffee while perusing the exquisite art pieces.
A great activity in February is dog sledging; for a more relaxed option, visit several reindeer sanctuaries. When you’ve had enough, relax in a hot spring while taking in the scenery.
However, when the sun has set, and the stars have begun to glimmer, you should celebrate Valentine’s Day in February. The Aurora Borealis.
If you’re fortunate, you might be able to book exclusive accommodation in advance at the Borealis Basecamp, a dome-shaped hotel room away from light pollution, and enjoy watching the magic dance above you from the comfort of your bed.
If not, take your jacket and climb to one of the many fantastic vantage spots. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
